Carter learned something about patterns while watching the new Nick Jr. show, “Team Umizoomi”. Today while eating pretzels from the bag (something we rarely do…) he announces:
CARTER: A pattern – like on Umizoomi! Take and bite then put it back in the bag. That’s a pattern!
Well, yes, I guess that is a pattern. It’s also sort of yucky for anyone else who wants some pretzels.
ALLISON: Mom, if I have a baby you would be the Grandma.
ME: That’s right.
ALLISON: But I’m never going to have a baby!
…which I suppose is alright with me since she’s going to live at home forever.
Today Allison and Carter were arguing over something at their craft table. Apparently Allison wanted to share her project with Carter, but he wasn’t doing it right and so he had been banned from helping any further. Before the situation got out of control, Super Mommy (me) had an idea…
ME: Carter, do you want me to get you a big sheet of construction paper?
Carter’s enthusiastic, “Yes!” sent me to my secret stash of 20″ X 15″ construction paper that I keep just for instances like this. As I am gently tearing a green sheet from the pad, Carter comes in…
CARTER: Make sure it has lots of construction on it.
ME: Oh Little Guy! Construction paper doesn’t have “construction”. In fact, it’s just colored paper. I don’t know why they call it “construction paper – except maybe because you can “construct” things with it.
My explanation is lost on him…except for the part where he realized he wasn’t getting any “construction” on his paper…
CARTER: Do you have some construction stickers?
Allison says a lot of funny things… these are a few of my favorites:
Sardines = Saltines
Icebird = Iceburg
Incitic = Excited
Dedoubt = Without
Inspect = Expect
I did ick! = I did it!
“If you count to three, two is always in the middle.”
“Do you know what they have in Las Vegas? Bacon!”
The Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking convention was in the Phoenix area (Glendale, AZ) in early October. If you’ve never been to a scrapbooking conventions, let me tell you – it is too much fun! There is shopping at the HUGE vendor faire, classes to take, and crops to attend.So, this picture is one days worth of projects that I did! Not included are 10 on-page layouts from the Thursday Night Sketches Crop and the cards and 2-page spread from the classes we took on Sunday!
Crazy fun for a scrapbooker!!
So at nap time today, about 30 minutes after tucking carter in, he appears on the stairs…
DADDY: Hi Carter. What are you doing?
CARTER (cheerfully): I am so tired. I need to have a little rest. So I come down. And after I have a little rest. I go back up.
Uh-huh. Well, what it lacked for in logic, he made up for with cuteness. So Carter earned himself a few minutes of watching Project Runway with me before he has to go back up for his nap.
