Ready for action!
After the fire.
This morning, while lounging against her giant dolphin (photos of the dolphin will be posted soon), Allison had two strings (shoelaces, really) from her lacing cards and was, very carefully, tangling them up together.
ALLISON: I’m knitting. I don’t know when it will be done.
DADDY: Oh, just like Mommy.
ALLISON: I’m making a toy for you Dada.
DADDY: What kind of toy is it?
ALLISON: It’s a funny spider.
And she gave it to Daddy.
Life is wonderful for a little boy – until Mom and Dad decide that it’s his bedtime…
First he tries:
No. Bed. No Daddy, no Daddy! Downstairs!
Next he tries:
Play now! Plaaaay noooow!
Once in bed, he tries:
Juice. Juiiiicccceeee! Juice please!!
When that doesn’t work, he moves on to:
Watch. TB. Downstairs. Watch TB. Now! (TB is “TV”.)
As a last ditch effort he pleads:
He-he. Tuck-in. He-he. Tuck-in! (He-he is “blanket”.)
He’s a smart kid. Each of his pleas has worked once. Maybe if he keeps trying, someday, it will work again.
They are wild this morning!
He’s napping and I checked… His pants are still on!
When we bought this house, we were told that the field behind us is zoned commercial. Of course, we were hoping it would take forever before anyone decided to do anything with it. But, for the last couple of days there has been a tractor out there plowing the field in rows for farming! We’re excited to see what they are going to plant!
A little plot of farm land will be fun to have out back!
Last night while Carter was demonstrating a “big neeze” for me… “Aaaaaaaa-choooooo!” I got a glimpse inside his mouth. That stinker has a new molar that has just broken through!
Maybe that explains his crabbiness for the last week!
Now, what could be the cause of Allison’s sudden and excessive defiance?
Upon waking up from his nap today, Carter says,
“Pants. On!”
All the while, I am thinking, “If you want your pants on, why do you keep taking them off?!” When I went in to check on him during nap-time, his pants and diaper were off. No mess. Just a wet diaper laying on the mattress beside him.
He takes his socks off all the time, too. Then an hour later, he’ll discover them on the floor where he discarded them and whine to me, “Socks. On!” When will logic start working in his little brain so he can make the connection that where his socks and pants are concerned, he’s the master of his own fate?
A package of Story Reader accessories arrived in the mail today! Now we have a bag to store the Story Reader, cartridges, and books. Plus we got headphones and a microphone! Too cool!
