Rock Star Bag

Here’s my latest knitting creation…

ROCK STAR BAG
Pattern designed by Kelly Deal of the BREEDERS.
Actual size is about 8″ X 10″.

This was a lot of fun to make.  You knit it with non-superwashed wool - then throw it in the washing machine on hot and it shrinks to obtains a “felted” look.  Way cool to see a large floppy thing go in to the washing machine and a cute fuzzy bag come out!  The design is done with a “duplicate stitch” - which is, basically, stitching over your knitting to create a design.  A lot like cross-stitching or embroidery.  Fun!

I am also furiously working on more ponchos - I am planning on trying to sell the ponchos and maybe some other stuff at a craft show in 4 weeks!  I’m nervous about it… but I think they will sell!

Birthday-ed Out

After week of birthday celebrations and baking cupcakes…I am birthday-ed out.

I think the birthday girl had a very good time and felt very special.  She has several new toys that she is enjoying - I have listened to “Nemo” on the Story Reader about 6 times already today.  She woke up singing “Happy Birthday” to herself on the day of her party.  On her birthday she woke up and explained to Carter that it was her birthday not his.  By the end of the day yesterday, even Carter could sing part of the Happy Birthday song!

It was a success.

I am happy.

I will breathe deeply while I have the chance because there is more to come for Carter’s birthday 6-weeks from now!
