Pumpkins

My pumpkins made pumpkins at the Lowes Build & Grow Clinic today!

The Lowes clinics are really cute and totally free!  The kids get a work apron and safety glasses.  And for each completed project they get a patch for Mommy to sew onto their apron.  Mostly the kits involve simple directions and hammering… which is Carter’s favorite part.  Today’s activity was making a pumpkin.  We have extra pieces so the eyes, nose and mouth are interchangeable.  We can make new pumpkin faces any time we want to!

Allison Says

We had ham, eggs, and toast for breakfast today.  Allison wanted to get done early so she could use her new light-up pumpkin pen (from Nana) to color.  Here’s her weasley way of trying to get out of eating her obligatory “one more bite” bite of ham…

ALLISON (giggling):  I didn’t inspect that, Dada.
DADDY:  You didn’t expect that?
ALLISON (with happy exasperation):  No.  I didn’t inspect to have to eat my ham today.

Cute as she is, her scheme didn’t work on us.  She still had to eat “one more bite” before she was allowed to color.

Picnic Today

It has been a long week here…  Mommy was sick through Tuesday (sniffles, headache, cough…) so I spent the rest of the week catching up!  Carter and I are both feeling much better now!

Today we are going to a picnic at Jim’s work.  They will have face painting, inflatables, hamburgers, hot dogs, and we’ll get to see his actual office!  (Normally, families are not permitted.)  This will be a real treat for all of us!

Last year’s family picnic was at a local park on a Friday evening - and we really, really enjoyed it!  Allison got her face painted with a butterfly… but shortly after, she fell sound asleep in the car on the way home.

We are not allowed to bring cameras to this year’s picnic… so I have resurrected last year’s pictures for your viewing pleasure.
