Allison’s Story Reader Recording Studio

A package of Story Reader accessories arrived in the mail today!  Now we have a bag to store the Story Reader, cartridges, and books.  Plus we got headphones and a microphone!  Too cool!

A Song In Her Heart

My beautiful daughter never closed her mouth last Friday.  I thought I was going to have to get earplugs to get some peace and quiet.  Sometime during all that jabbering, she even broke out in song:

Hang your toes,
Hang your toes,
On your surf board!

Hang your toes,
Hang your toes,
On your surf board!

Hoe Daddy,
Wipe Out!

It is important to note that this song is best sung while running circles around your train table.

Ice Cream After Dinner… Anyone?

A couple of weekends ago we all piled in the car to go to happy hour at a sushi restaurant.  (Great deals and yummy food!).  Allison had ice cream on her mind:

ALLISON:  I have an idea.  After we eat at the sushi restaurant, we can go get ice cream!  Is that a good idea?
DADDY:  No.
ALLISON:  After.
MOMMY and DADDY in unison:  No.
ALLISON:  I mean after.
MOMMY and DADDY emphatically:  No!

She did make us laugh with her persistence.

(P.S. For all those who wonder how she can eat ice cream with her milk allergy…she doesn’t.  We go to an ice cream shop that has a completely dairy-free sorbet that she can have.  With sprinkles, of course.  We call it “ice cream”.)

Carter and the Fire Truck

Joy of all joys!  There was a fire truck at Daddy’s work picnic on Saturday.  Both kids got to sit in it and check it out.

While sitting in the driver’s seat, here’s what Carter had to say when Daddy told him it was time to get down…

“No.  Driving!  Mmmmmmm!  Mmmmmmm!”

…as he turned the really big steering wheel back and forth with his little hands.
