Carter’s Pants

Upon waking up from his nap today, Carter says,
“Pants. On!”
All the while, I am thinking, “If you want your pants on, why do you keep taking them off?!” When I went in to check on him during nap-time, his pants and diaper were off. No mess. Just a wet diaper laying on the mattress beside him.
He takes his socks off all the time, too. Then an hour later, he’ll discover them on the floor where he discarded them and whine to me, “Socks. On!” When will logic start working in his little brain so he can make the connection that where his socks and pants are concerned, he’s the master of his own fate?
