Happy Birthday to Carter!

Today is Carter’s 2nd birthday.

Happy birthday to you my beautiful son!  Every single day you make me smile.  I am so happy that God chose me to be your Mommy!

Pop’s Work Office

The kids enjoyed an impromptu visit to “Pop’s Work Office”
- well, mostly they enjoyed a ride in his desk chair!

(Cell phone picture… so the quality isn’t real good.  But the subjects are adorable!)

When in Texas…

Nana and Pop took us to a Bar-B-Que restaurant with a game room in the back.  Yes, we allowed Pop to treat the kids to any game he chose… including the shoot-’em-up games!

In the Airport

We traveled to San Antonio on Sunday to spend Carter’s birthday and Thanksgiving with my parents.

Although the check-in line at the airport was long, the kids didn’t mind at all!  –They got a free ride on the suitcases!

The kids were really well behaved in the airport.  Allison was very, very well behaved on the airplane…  As you might expect, I can’t say the same for Carter.  But in his defense, we took him to an urgent care clinic yesterday and he has a double ear infection.  Poor little guy!

Early Birthday Celebration

Over the weekend we had a little pre-birthday celebration for Carter.  His birthday is November 25th (Tuesday) and we are planning on going to Sea World in San Antonio to celebrate on that day!  But, since one of his gifts was too big to take on the airplane with us, we decided to open a couple gifts and have a pre-birthday party before we left.

The day started with Mom and Dad eavesdropping on Carter and Allison when they first woke-up.  Allison was explaining to Carter that he was two and she was four.  And she sang him a Happy Birthday song!  So sweet.

Next was a gift from Grandma.  A tent, tunnel and teepee!  There were squeels of delight!

Next, Daddy took the kids to “hammer!” at the Lowes Build and Grow workshop.  Each of the kids made a football goal.  The birthday boy has a definite love of hammering.  Being allowed to hold a real hammer and bang away at something would have made it a wonderful day all by itself, but there was more…

When they got home, Mommy had the table all set with Lightening McQueen decorations and birthday cupcakes!  We had lunch, ate cupcakes, and opened two more gifts!  And still, there was more excitement to come!

To finish out a wonderful day, we went to a demolition derby.  Yes, for real, a demolition derby!  Our small town has a demolition derby at the rodeo arena twice a year.  (They have a rodeo only once a year…)  We went a year ago and loved it!  Allison loved it, too!  (Carter was there, too, but I don’t think he remembered it.)  This year was just as good as last!  Carter sat on Daddy’s lap and said, “Tar.  Broke.”  (Car, broke.)  We especially loved the tractors that come out to tow the broken cars off the field.

Now, every vehicle he sees (cars, trucks, airplanes, trains, etc.) he declares to be “broke.”  We’ve tried to explain that an airplane that is flying in the sky is not broke.  But he just looks at us like we must surely be mistaken.
