From the Arizona Republic today:

     SWARMING BEES:  Experts are warning about an increase in bee swarms spurred by the Valley’s wet winter.
     Firefighters said calls about swarms in public places such as schools and parks have jumped in many cities, from the East to the West Valley.  Goodyear saw the biggest spike in the first six months of the year: 59 calls, up from 18 during the same period last year.

OK… The cicada was cool to see.  But this just creeped me out!  A little too much nature in our backyard this week.

This bee swarm has invaded our tree.  I was totally creeped out by the black moving thing on our tree!  James took the pictures and got way closer than I thought was safe - so I went out and pulled him inside then closed and locked the door!   But, after reading a bit about bee swarms, it’s actually very interesting and we’ve decided to give them a day or two to see if they leave on their own before we call a bee exterminator.

During a dust storm (which included thunder and lightening, but only a couple drops of rain) tonight, Carter declared,

Astronauts not afraid of wind.

Astronauts may not be afraid of wind, but Allison sure is!

Early this morning, Carter got up and climbed in bed with me while Daddy was in the shower.  I reminded him that he needed to go potty, so he hopped down and took off toward the bathroom.  A moment later, he came running back to the bed, put his bunny next to me on the pillow and said,

“Oo keep eye on mine bunny!”

Then he turned around and ran back to the bathroom.

I took Carter to the John Deere tractor store as a motivation for getting potty trained!  When he goes SEVEN days without an accident, we’ll take him back and let him pick out a tractor toy (or maybe even a little bike that he saw) for his prize!

He loved all the tractors and they even let him climb on some of them!!
