“A Halloween Story” by Carter

November 9th, 2009

              by Carter

Once there was a little vampire.
And he couldn’t have his Daddy.

And the little ghost was in the story.

Ghost came to rescue the Daddy one.
And the Daddy one said, “I want to suck your bloooooood!”

The ghost doesn’t be scared in this story.
The vampire is just pretending to suck the ghost-es blooood.

There was a fire to get the baby ghost.
And the baby ghost died.

That was a long made up story.  Can I do a puzzle?

ALLISON:  Daddy, did you know that there is a store where you can buy insurance?

JAMES:  Yes, we use USAA for our insurance.  Are you talking about the Progressive car insurance commercials?

ALLISON:  Yes, Pergreffit.

(Thoughtful pause.)

ALLISON:  You can name your own price!

CARTER:  Mommy!  I can tell stories like a grown-up!

ME: You can?  I’d like to hear one.

There was a long pause,
so I prompted him…

ME:  Once upon a time…

CARTER: There was a Daddy.  …THE END!

Yucky Stuff

September 9th, 2009

Running in from the backyard, Carter says:

CARTER:  I need giant water so I can make more yucky stuff.
ME:  You need giant water so you can make more yucky stuff?
CARTER (happily): Uh-huh!

Ahhhh… the joy of a son.

In the News

September 8th, 2009

A couple weeks ago we stopped to see the firefighters and a helicopter at a water safety day show in the parking lot of a local grocery store.  A reporter for the Buckeye Valley News was there and took a picture of the kids in the helicopter!

August 31st, 2009

DADDY:  Carter, it’s time to get dressed.
CARTER(wailing):  I don’t want to wear dress!  Dresses are for girls!
DADDY:  It’s time to get your clothes on.
