Allison Has Seen Too Many Progressive Commercials

ALLISON:  Daddy, did you know that there is a store where you can buy insurance?

JAMES:  Yes, we use USAA for our insurance.  Are you talking about the Progressive car insurance commercials?

ALLISON:  Yes, Pergreffit.

(Thoughtful pause.)

ALLISON:  You can name your own price!

Carter Says - Storytelling Like a Grown Up

CARTER:  Mommy!  I can tell stories like a grown-up!

ME: You can?  I’d like to hear one.

There was a long pause,
so I prompted him…

ME:  Once upon a time…

CARTER: There was a Daddy.  …THE END!

Yucky Stuff

Running in from the backyard, Carter says:

CARTER:  I need giant water so I can make more yucky stuff.
ME:  You need giant water so you can make more yucky stuff?
CARTER (happily): Uh-huh!

Ahhhh… the joy of a son.

In the News

A couple weeks ago we stopped to see the firefighters and a helicopter at a water safety day show in the parking lot of a local grocery store.  A reporter for the Buckeye Valley News was there and took a picture of the kids in the helicopter!

Dressing

DADDY:  Carter, it’s time to get dressed.
CARTER(wailing):  I don’t want to wear dress!  Dresses are for girls!
DADDY:  It’s time to get your clothes on.
CARTER:  OK.

My Point Of View

This is what I see looking out from my favorite chair tonight…

Allison Says

When asked to help her brother move his chair:

ALLISON:  Oh yes. I love using my manners.

Too Cute

Carter just came in from the backyard and said:

“Us are picking up leaves that are on ground and
putting them in toy box for bubbles.”

Then he smiled at me.

And although I’d rather not have to go clean leaves out of the outside toy box sometime in the near future, because he was so cute, I decided that I’d let him get away with it for today.
